1964년 충남 예산에서 태어나 국문학을 공부하였고 어린이책 작가교실 1기를 수료하였습니다. 2002년 동화 「보리밭의 종다리」로 계간 『아동문학연구』 문학상을 받았으며, 지은 책으로 『곰돌이 공』『팥죽할미와 호랑이』 등이 있습니다. 그림책 글과 논픽션 글을 쓰면서 재미와 지식을 함께 담으려고 노력하고 있습니다.

Born in 1964 in Yesan, South Chungcheong Province, Yu Da-jeong studied Korean literature (BA) at the Korea National Open University. The recipient of the Study of Children’s Literature Prize in 2002 for her juvenile fiction The Lark in the Barley Field and the Saesaem Children’s Fiction Award for her picture book The Little Bear’s Ball, she has also penned Granny Red Bean Porridge and the Tiger.
