The Quarterly Changbi 187, Spring 2020
Abstract
Kim Ki-heung deals with the question of plastics, an issue which has become so serious that the material is found even in the natural strata of the earth. His careful description of the history and process of the spread of plastics, as related to the capitalist desire for infinite growth, is fascinating. He raises the need for an active post-growth approach in order for us to escape from a widespread addiction to plastics and to solve the problem of overproduction and overconsumption of this artificial material.
