[Article] Provinces Kill Provinces: Metropolitan Area Centralization and the Extinction of Provinces / Kang Joon-mann

Abstract
Kang Joon-mann, a key opinion leader in Korean society, discusses metropolitan area centralization and the “extinction of provinces” in a characteristically clear and fine article. His sense that the collapse of provinces is a matter for all Korean society and his cherished opinion that the provinces have become “internal colonies” seem to have developed into even keener theories than before. As it appears that there now exists a self-contained regime and a vicious cycle, in which the statement “provinces kill provinces” has been established, this article calls for more active discussion from us about how to solve this problem.
