Abstract
Novelist Kim Jung-mi, who has long worked with the poor, evaluates the presidential election in March, based on her experience at afterschool programs and communities. Her article vividly describes the actual lives of youths that are excluded from the general term “youth generation” put forward as rhetoric in the political space, and the ways in which they look at the world. She gives us moving hints of hope, sprouting from the participation of people without abundant economic means in a network of “caring for one another” and of expanding that network.
