1958년 경기도 의정부에서 태어나 홍익대학교를 다녔습니다. ‘아이들이 행복한 세상이 좋은 세상’이라고 찰떡같이 믿으며 선생님은 ‘그림을 통한 희망 찾기’에 열심입니다. 쓰고 그린 그림책으로 『동강의 아이들』『숲 속에서』가 있고 그린 그림책으로『고향으로』 들이 있습니다. 『동강의 아이들』로 ‘2004 에스파스 앙팡상’을 받았습니다.

Born in 1958 in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province, Kim Jae-hong studied Western painting (BFA) at Hongik University. Staunch in his belief that a world where children are happy is a good world, he strives to find hope through his drawings. He has written and illustrated The Children of the Dong River and In the Forest and has drawn for Homeward. He received the 2004 Prix International du Livre Espace-Enfant for The Children of the Dong River.
