1967년 전북 완주에서 태어나 서울예술대학 문예창작과를 졸업했다. 고등학생 비보이들의 이야기를 그린 장편소설 『몽구스 크루』로 제4회 사계절문학상을 받으며 등단했다. 지은 책으로 『이토록 뜨거운 파랑』 『자전거 말고 바이크』 등이 있다.

Born in 1967 in Wanju, North Jeolla Province, Sin Yeo-rang studied creative writing (BFA) at the Seoul Institute of the Arts. She made her literary debut with the presentation of the 4th Sakyejul Literary Award for her novel The Mongoose Crew: We Wanna Dance! which concerns high school b-boys. She has also authored young adults’ short story collections such as Curiosity: Seven Stories about Teenagers’ Love and Sex (co-authorship; published by Changbi) and Bikes, Not Bicycles.
