대학에서 동양화를 공부하고 한겨레일러스트레이션학교 그림책 과정을 수료했다. 그림책 『꼭꼭 숨어라』로 국제 노마콩쿠르에서 그림책 일러스트레이션 가작을 수상했고 『바다사자의 섬』『서울』『멋져 부러, 세발자전거!』『로봇의 별』『별 볼 일 없는 4학년』등을 그렸다.

Born in 1974 in Yeong’am, South Jeolla Province, O Seung-min studied Asian painting (BFA) at Sejong University and completed the illustration/picture book program at the Hankyoreh Cultural Center. For his Hide and Seek, he received the Korean Award for Hans Christian Andersen competition in 2004 and the Encouragement Prize in the Noma Concours for Picture Book Illustrations in 2005. He has drawn for works including Reise gegen den Wind, The Ugly Duckling, The Barbershop Next to the Photo Studio, and Letters from Rifka and written and illustrated One Star, Bow-wow, Two Stars, Sleep Tight.
