서울대 대학원 서양사학과 동대학원 졸업. 현재 부산대학교 사학과 교수. 역서로 『고대에서 봉건제로의 이동』(창작과비평사 1990)이 있음. 『근대 세계체제』(까치 1999), 『영국 노동계급의 형성』(창작과비평사 2000) 등이 있음. 계간『창작과비평』 편집위원.

Born in 1954 in Seoul, Yoo Jae-keon studied Western history (BA and MA) at Seoul National University. Currently a professor at Pusan National University, he has authored: “Historical Law and Historiography” and “Marx and Wallerstein”; and co-translated into Korean Perry Anderson’s Passages from Antiquity to Feudalism (1990, published by Changbi), E. P. Thompson’s The Making of the English Working Class (2000, published by Changbi), and Immanuel Wallerstein’s The Modern World System
