서울대 동양사학과를 졸업하고 동아일보에서 사회부•정치부 기자, 워싱턴특파원, 노조위원장을 역임했다. 현재 미주리대학 저널리즘스쿨 석사과정에 있으며 미국 라디오 프로그램 ‘글로벌 저널리스트’의 프로듀서로 일하고 있다. 옮긴 책으로 『나를 부르는 숲』 『천천히 달려라』 『리틀 비트와 함께한 여섯번의 여름』 등이 있다.
After studying Asian history (BA) at Seoul National University, Hong Eun-Taek has served as a staff reporter, correspondent, and labor union head at the daily Dong-A Ilbo. Currently, he studies in the master’s program in the Missouri School of Journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia and works as a producer for Global Journalist Radio, an American radio program on which journalists from around the world discuss international news. He has translated into Korean a number of books including Bill Bryson’s A Walk in the Woods: Rediscovering America on the Appalachian Trail, John Bingham’s No Need for Speed: A Beginner’s Guide to the Joy of Running, and Jack Beckland’s Summers With the Bears: Six Seasons in the North Woods.
