Paik Nak-chung carefully discusses the revolutionary significance of the March 1st Movement from the viewpoint of the present, after the Candlelight Revolution. Emphasizing that the spirit of March 1st was founded on the tradition of the Donghak movement and peasant revolution, which embraced Gaebyeok thought, he highlights the consistent current of transformative centrism that has continued since the March 1st Movement.
