[Feature] Resolving the Division, or Overcoming the Division System? / Lee Nam Ju

Abstract
The intention of the feature of the current issue is clearly expressed in its title: "It Is the Time to Rethink the Division System". It is featured to focus on the division system of the Korean peninsula, which has been made more visible since the Candlelight Revolution, and to comprehend the state of things on the peninsula, which is unprecedentedly hard to predict, even the immediate future. In the first article of the feature, Lee Nam Ju proposes a way to overcome the division system via the federation of nations, in comparison with the one-nation or two-nations perspective, after giving an account for the division system, as a unique system in the global politics. By offering a sharp criticism to the tendency of leaving inter-Korean relations as they stands on the grounds of prioritizing peace, he emphasizes that we should go on to the direction for heightening the prospects for the unification of South and North Korea, just to achieve sustainable peace on the peninsula.
