천 꽝싱 陳光興 Kuan-Hsing Chen
1957년 타이완 타이뻬이에서 태어났다. 현재 타이완 칭화(淸華)대학 아시아태평양문화연구실(亞太文化硏究室) 교수이자, 『인터아시아 문화연구』(Inter-Asia Cultural Studies: Movements) 주간이다. 연세대와 뻬이징 칭화대 방문교수를 역임했다. 많은 논문이 한국, 중국 대륙, 영어권에 소개되었으며, 지금은 주로 범아시아문제를 연구하는 중이다. 저서로 『매체/문화비판적 인민민주주의도피노선』(媒體/文化批判的人民民主逃逸路線, 1992)이 있고, 편저로 『타이완의 문화연구』(文化硏究在臺灣, 2000), 『정치사회의 발견』(發現政治社會, 2000), 『스튜어트 홀 문화연구』(Stuart Hall: Critical Dialogues in Cultural Studies, 1996), 『궤적: 인터아시아 문화연구』(Trajectories: Inter-Asia Cultural Studies, 1998)가 있다.
Born in 1957 in Taipei, Taiwan, Kuan-Hsing Chen is a professor in the Center for Asia-Pacific/Cultural Studies at the National Tsing Hua University and co-executive editor of the journal Inter-Asia Cultural Studies: Movements. A former visiting fellow at Yonsei University and Tsinghua University in Beijing, he has penned academic papers, many of which have been introduced to mainland Chinese, Korean, and Anglophone scholars, and is studying pan-Asian problems. He has authored Media/Cultural Critique: A Popular Democratic Line of Flight (Chinese; 1992) and edited and contributed to Stuart Hall: Critical Dialogues in Cultural Studies (English; 1996), Trajectories: Inter-Asia Cultural Studies (English; 1998), Cultural Studies in Taiwan(Chinese; 2000), and Partha Chatterjee Seminar: Locating Political Society: State Violence, Modernity and Postcolonial Democracies (Chinese; 2000).
