1963년 전북 익산에서 태어나 전주교육대학교를 졸업하고 초등학교 교사로 일한다. 2000년 『한국기독공보』 제1회 신춘문예에 동화로 당선했으며, 『학교에 간 개돌이』 『손바닥에 쓴 글씨』 『축구 생각』 『청소녀 백과사전』 『불을 가진 아이』 『어린이를 위한 예수와 함께한 학교생활』 들을 냈다.

Born in 1963, Kim Ok studied at Jeonju National University of Education and teaches at a primary school. She made her literary debut in 2000. Since then, she has authored works including Think Soccer! (published by Changbi Publishers), The Writing on the Palm (published by Changbi Publishers), and Bring Back My Mommy.
